Living in Orange Beach, Alabama, is a true blessing, with pristine white sandy beaches, fantastic live music, and that warm southern hospitality everyone loves. But one of my absolute favorite parts of life here is the chance to witness the Blue Angels soar through the sky. These elite pilots, true heroes of our country, represent the courage and dedication of the finest men and women in the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Watching them in action is a humbling experience, knowing the dedication, training, and sheer bravery required to pull off their complex aerial displays. Their flights are a spectacle that instills pride and admiration, making Orange Beach feel even more special for those of us lucky enough to call it home.


Behind every thrilling Blue Angels performance is a highly skilled enlisted maintenance and support team comprised of approximately 100 Sailors and Marines, with alternating crews of about 45 team members who travel to each show site. This squadron is divided into seven departments, each responsible for guaranteeing command readiness, and each member plays an integral role. Every Sailor and Marine on the team is recommended for duty by their commanding officer, showcasing the pride and professionalism that represent the best of the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Their commitment to excellence is so unwavering that the Blue Angels have never canceled an airshow due to maintenance issues—a true testament to their skill and dedication. By bringing the experience of Naval aviation to communities across the country, especially those without a large military presence, the Blue Angels share not only awe-inspiring displays of skill but also the spirit and pride of our Navy and Marine Corps with Americans nationwide.
