I sat in a meeting where the opening topic was Reconnect50. I wanted my veteran clients, and owners who keep a Gulf rental, to hear it from me in the same language I heard it.
Reconnect50 veteran vacation rentals are booked at 50% off the listed retail price when a unit is empty. The program is run at reconnect50.com. I am not the program. I am the local advisor who will tell you it exists, and then send you to the people who verify service and hold the calendar.

Veterans are verified and credentialed before they see inventory. Property owners register the vacancies they want to release. That is the whole design.
Operation ReConnect and Reconnect50 are related. They are not the same offer.

What those words mean
Verified, to me, means the program has credentialed your service before you can see the private inventory. Listed retail is the published rate on the vacancy, not a marked-up number invented for a coupon.
If you served, the door is meant to be open.
In the meeting, the program was described as open to anyone who has served: active, retired, Guard, Reserve, and service-connected veterans. That is broader than the original Operation ReConnect combat-veteran gift week. The speaker , Ryan Charrier - Founder & Director of Operation ReConnect, was clear that Vietnam veterans should not be turned away here.

The discount applies to empty dates the owner or management company has released into the program.

The Gulf is the local starting point. The map is getting larger.
They are also expanding beyond this area. Names on the table: Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, Sky Montana, and Colorado Springs. The point they made was simple. Veterans should be able to travel this country at an affordable rate.
Inventory moves. I am not going to freeze a calendar here. If a friend or a past client asks what is open this month, I send them to Reconnect50 after they register. If they also want to buy on this coast, I will help with that search myself.

Property owners sign up to affiliate. The program works with rental management companies. Individual owners with a small portfolio, including people who already use Airbnb or VRBO, can register and release the empty dates they want listed. Rates stay private to verified veterans. They are not a public flash sale.
Keep your management company
Housekeeping, channels, and day-to-day operations stay yours. The program is meant to fill the gap nights, not replace your listing stack.
You choose what to release
Vacancies the owner wants listed are integrated into the Reconnect50 account. That is the inventory veterans see after they are credentialed.
A name is helpful. Their site makes it useful.
