TOP-RATED SEAFOOD RESTAURANTS NEAR ORANGE BEACH, ALABAMA

Guided by the Gulf. Grounded by Integrity — Meredith Folger Amon, Gulf Coast Expert Real Estate Advisor
Guided by the Gulf. Grounded by Integrity.

When I am working with buyers who are considering a move to Orange Beach, or homeowners who are thinking about selling and staying along the coast, the conversation almost always turns to one thing: seafood. Where can you find the kind of fresh Gulf fish, thoughtful preparation, and waterfront atmosphere that feels distinctly Orange Beach, Alabama.

Over the years, my neighbors, friends, and homeowners have helped me build a short list of restaurants that I recommend again and again. These are the places I point people toward when they ask, “Where would you go if you had one night for a great seafood dinner.”

Below are the top-rated seafood restaurants I personally love near Orange Beach, in the order I typically recommend them. Whether you already own here or are exploring Orange Beach real estate, these spots give a delicious taste of what coastal living feels like on a daily basis.

Voyagers at Perdido Beach Resort – Fine Dining with Gulf Views

Voyagers, located inside Perdido Beach Resort, offers one of the most refined seafood dining experiences in our area. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Gulf, and at sunset the room glows with soft light over crisp white tablecloths. It feels special the moment you sit down.

The culinary focus at Voyagers is on seasonal menus, sustainable Gulf seafood, and carefully sourced meats, paired with a thoughtful wine list. Gulf-caught fish, prime steaks, locally grown vegetables, and composed sides come together in dishes that feel both polished and rooted in place. One dish that always seems to be talked about is their indulgent chicken fried lobster, which pairs beautifully with a glass from their wine program.

Voyagers is where I send people when they want to mark an occasion or show off the best of Orange Beach to out-of-town guests. More than one homeowner has told me, “We plan our special nights around Voyagers’ wine list.” If you are staying or living nearby, it is a restaurant that can easily anchor a long weekend at the beach.

Louisiana Lagniappe – Creole Flair at SanRoc Cay Marina

Louisiana Lagniappe at SanRoc Cay Marina combines classic Gulf seafood with a Creole twist and a beautiful waterfront setting overlooking the marina and Cotton Bayou. The atmosphere is upscale-casual: white tablecloths, marina views, and a steady hum of conversation from guests who clearly know they are in the right place for a memorable dinner.

The menu highlights Gulf seafood prepared with Louisiana influence. Think stuffed shrimp topped with a shrimp and crabmeat dressing, Grouper Pecan, Bayou Grouper, shrimp and grits, and generous fried seafood platters, typically served with hushpuppies, a fresh house salad, and Southern-style sides.

My personal favorites here are often the Grouper Pecan or the stuffed shrimp, paired with a simple salad and a glass of wine while boats ease in and out of the marina. I have had more than one Orange Beach homeowner tell me, “This is our go-to spot when we want to remember why we chose the Gulf Coast.” It is a perfect place for a relaxed, yet elevated night out after a day on the water or a few afternoon showings.

Big Fish Restaurant & Bar – Canal Road Classic

Big Fish on Canal Road is great when someone wants a seriously good seafood dinner with an elevated, yet relaxed atmosphere. From the outside it feels almost like a local secret, but once you walk in, the interior shifts into a casually elegant dining room with white tablecloths, warm lighting, and an open-air kitchen that lets you watch the team at work.

Big Fish is known for fresh Gulf seafood, premium steaks, and some of the best sushi on the Alabama Gulf Coast. The menu leans into Asian-inspired flavors, with options like firecracker shrimp, ginger-glazed shrimp skewers, and beautifully prepared fresh fish such as grouper, amberjack, and Chilean sea bass that you can order grilled, blackened, or “Big Fish style.”

I tend to start with their ginger-glazed shrimp skewers or a simple tuna appetizer, and then move into whatever Gulf fish is featured that evening. More than once, I have looked around the dining room and heard a neighbor lean over and say, “This may be the best meal we have had all year.” It is the kind of place I recommend for everything from a relaxed date night to a celebratory dinner after closing on a new home.

Shipp’s Dockside Grill at Orange Beach Marina – Harbor View Dining

At Orange Beach Marina, Shipp’s Dockside Grill blends a lively waterfront atmosphere with a menu that ranges from coastal comfort food to sushi and chef-driven specials. You can sit overlooking the sportfishing fleet and enjoy the feeling of a true working marina while you dine.

Shipp’s is known for fresh Gulf seafood, steaks, and an impressive sushi selection. Many people talk about their creamy crab bisque, tuna appetizers, and large seafood platters that are ideal for sharing, along with creative cocktails that pair nicely with marina views at sunset.

When I go, I gravitate toward a bowl of bisque, a shared sushi roll, and one of the fresh fish specials. There is something about watching the masts and larger yachts against the evening sky that makes dinner here feel very “Orange Beach marina” in the best way.

More Seafood Spots Locals Love

Beyond those core four, there are several other seafood restaurants that come up again and again in conversations with Orange Beach neighbors and long-time Gulf Coast residents. When I am helping someone narrow down where they might want to own a condo, canal-front home, or even something across the bridge on Ono Island, these places often factor into the lifestyle discussion.

OSO at Bear Point Harbor

OSO at Bear Point Harbor is a waterfront spot with live music, sunset views over Bay La Launch, and a menu that stretches from fish tacos and seafood gumbo to creative bowls, burgers, and brunch items. The setting is relaxed and coastal, with an emphasis on enjoying the view as much as the food.

I typically recommend the seafood gumbo, blackened grouper sandwich, or fish tacos, especially if you time your visit to catch the sky turning shades of pink and gold over the harbor. It is one of those places where you can easily end up lingering longer than planned.

Zeke’s Restaurant at Zeke’s Landing & Marina

Zeke’s Restaurant at Zeke’s Landing & Marina has quickly become a favorite waterfront dining spot, pairing fresh local seafood with a laid-back atmosphere. The menu features items such as oysters, lobster tails, crab legs, mussels, shrimp, and tuna tartare, along with shrimp scampi, lobster rolls, and blackened cobia when available.

Friends and neighbors often mention the shrimp scampi and lobster roll, especially on cooler evenings when a warm, garlicky pasta dish feels just right after a day offshore or watching the charter fleet return.

GTs on the Bay – Canal Road on Wolf Bay

GTs on the Bay, also on Canal Road, sits overlooking Wolf Bay and offers a broad menu that includes fresh seafood, stone-hearth pizzas, a salad bar, and craft beers. It is known for bayfront views and a diverse menu that works well for groups with different tastes.

From a seafood standpoint, I gravitate toward fresh fish specials and shrimp dishes, paired with something crisp and cold to sip while watching boats move across Wolf Bay. The combination of water views and a flexible menu makes it an easy recommendation for both locals and visitors.

The Gulf – Casual Waterfront with a Rotating Menu

The Gulf near Perdido Pass is a uniquely designed outdoor waterfront restaurant built from shipping containers, with views straight out toward the Pass and the Gulf. The menu changes frequently and centers around locally inspired food, but some standouts have included a Snapper BLT, lobster and shrimp rolls, and classic Gulf shrimp plates.

This is a place I recommend when someone wants a laid-back, toes-in-the-sand feel with very good food. It pairs nicely with a day spent exploring nearby beaches, cruising by boat with friends, or just enjoying a slow afternoon in Orange Beach.

Seafood, Lifestyle, and Choosing Where to Live

When people talk about moving to or investing in Orange Beach or nearby communities like Ono Island, they are rarely just talking about floor plans and square footage. They are also talking about the ability to slip out for a beautiful seafood dinner on a weeknight, watch boats roll into the marina, or linger over a glass of wine while the sun sets over Cotton Bayou or the Gulf.

As a Gulf Coast expert real estate advisor, licensed in Alabama and Florida, I spend a lot of time listening to what my buyers and sellers value most. For many, being a short drive from places like Big Fish, Voyagers, Louisiana Lagniappe, Shipp’s, OSO, Zeke’s, GTs on the Bay, and The Gulf is part of the decision-making process. Restaurants become landmarks in the story of a home.

On www.searchthegulf.com, the Gulf Coast’s premier website for searching all real estate listings on the Gulf Coast, you can explore condos, canal-front homes, and waterfront properties that put you close to the restaurants and marinas you will likely frequent the most. Whether you prefer being near Canal Road, Perdido Pass, Wolf Bay, or the marinas, we can tailor your home search around the lifestyle you want to enjoy.

If you are thinking about buying or selling along the Gulf Coast and want thoughtful guidance on neighborhoods, restaurants, boating amenities, and more, I would be honored to help you navigate your next move.

Menus, hours, and offerings at the restaurants mentioned above can change, so I always recommend checking each restaurant’s website or calling ahead before you go.
