Flora-Bama Mullet Toss & Greatest Beach Party 2025

Flora Bama Mullet Toss 2025

The Flora-Bama Interstate Mullet Toss & Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party is back for 2025, promising another wild, unforgettable weekend filled with live music, food, beachside fun, and of course—the legendary mullet toss competition. From April 25-27, thousands will gather on the white sandy beaches of Perdido Key to take part in what has become a bucket-list event for locals and visitors alike.

This event is more than just tossing a fish—it’s about community, charity, and an all-out beach celebration. Whether you’re here to compete, party, or just soak in the atmosphere, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

What is the Interstate Mullet Toss?

The Interstate Mullet Toss is exactly what it sounds like—contestants stand inside a 10-foot circle in Florida and attempt to throw a dead mullet across the state line into Alabama. It’s a competition, a spectacle, and an excuse to throw one of the biggest beach parties on the Gulf Coast.

Over the years, the event has grown into a nationally recognized tradition, drawing crowds from across the country. Hotels in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and Perdido Key book up months in advance for this weekend, and people travel from all over to be a part of the action.

Why Toss a Mullet?

Beyond the fun and festivities, the Mullet Toss is a fundraiser for local youth charities. A portion of each entry fee goes directly to local schools and organizations, including the Community Drug & Alcohol Council, Inc. (CDAC), which provides education, prevention programs, and support services for youth and families in need.

Each year, the event raises over $40,000 for community initiatives, making it one of the most impactful local fundraisers on the Gulf Coast.

Event Details & Schedule

The Flora-Bama Mullet Toss takes place the last full weekend of April, running Friday through Sunday.

Tossing Schedule

All participants must register at the event, and each mullet toss costs $20, which includes a commemorative Interstate Mullet Toss T-shirt.

Rules & Guidelines

What Happens to the Mullet?

Don’t worry—no live fish are harmed in the making of this event. After the competition, the mullets are donated to Alligator Alley and the Gulf Coast Zoo as a snack for their alligator residents.

How Many People Attend?

Expect thousands of beachgoers packed into the Flora-Bama area throughout the weekend. This is one of the biggest parties on the Gulf Coast, drawing a mix of locals, tourists, and celebrities. The memories made here are priceless, and the event only continues to grow each year.
