CARIBBEAN COLORS, GULF COAST SOUL: A STOP ALONG THE WAY
Caribbean Waters… Right Here on the Gulf Coast

Over the weekend, we pulled off for a break on one of the small islands we love to stop at during our boating adventures. I took a short video while we were anchored that I just had to share — because honestly, if I didn’t know better, I’d think I was looking at a hidden cove somewhere in the Caribbean.
The water was so clear you could see straight to the sandy bottom, every shell glistening beneath the gentle tide. It shimmered with a mix of soft turquoise and deep teal, and the sunlight added just the right glow.
Moments like these remind me how lucky I am to call the Gulf Coast home. Living on Ono Island and having quick access to scenes like this never gets old. It’s the kind of beauty that makes people stop in their tracks — or better yet, drop anchor and stay a while.
One of my neighbors once said,
“The Gulf doesn’t just sparkle — it breathes life into your day.”
I couldn’t agree more. Whether you’re headed out to fish, explore, or just drift in silence, these waters have a way of grounding you. They're not just part of the landscape — they’re part of the lifestyle.
If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up and having this kind of escape in your own backyard, I’d love to help you find it. Whether it’s a home with a boat slip or a new construction with views of the bay, it’s closer than you think.
Watch the video and take in the peace of it. This is what we mean when we say: #becausewelivehere.

Boater’s Field Manual to Ono Island Canals — Bayou St. John Access, Depths & Dock Design
THE BOATER’S FIELD MANUAL TO ONO ISLAND’S SIX CANALS
How boats actually reach these canals
If your dock is on the north side of Ono Island, your boat lives on water that empties directly into Bayou St. John. From there you run east or west—Perdido Pass, Terry Cove, Cotton Bayou, and the Perdido…
