This morning I stopped by a condo I just put under contract for my buyers. I went with the intention of doing inventory, checking off the usual details before moving forward. But the truth is, the moment I stepped onto the deck, I had to pause. The Gulf stretched endlessly before me, the sound of waves carrying up to the balcony, and I realized once again why so many people dream of owning here.

As a real estate advisor, I see many beautiful properties, but it never gets old. A wide, private deck overlooking sugar-white sand is more than just square footage on a listing sheet. It’s a lifestyle — morning coffee with a view, afternoons watching the water change colors, and evenings spent soaking in the salt air. These are the little things that add so much value to a Gulf Coast home.

What excites me most about helping my buyers find properties like this is knowing how these details enhance their everyday lives. For some, it’s having space for family and guests to gather. For others, it’s the convenience of being steps from the beach while still having a private retreat high above the shoreline.

Looking ahead, buyers in 2025 and 2026 continue to prioritize outdoor living and energy efficiency. Spacious decks, storm-rated glass doors, and low-maintenance finishes are more than trends — they’re part of what makes coastal living sustainable and enjoyable. I’m seeing more demand for three-car garages, golf cart storage, and well-designed outdoor spaces with kitchens and showers. It’s all about blending comfort with practicality in a way that fits the coastal lifestyle.

As one neighbor recently told me, “It’s not just a condo, it’s a front-row seat to paradise.” I couldn’t agree more.

If you’re considering buying or selling along the Gulf Coast, I’d love to help you navigate the process. After more than 20 years in real estate and as a homeowner right here on Ono Island, I know what makes a property stand out — not just on paper, but in real life.
