This technique uses high-pressure water to loosen the sand, allowing the piling to sink deep into the ground, providing support against uplift, lateral wind forces, and erosion.

  • Heavier upfront cost, but lower long-term maintenance

  • Geotech testing required to ensure correct depth and spacing

3. Helical Piers

  • Steel shafts with helical blades twisted into the soil

  • Typically used where soil conditions prevent deep drilling

  • Highly engineered and extremely stable

  • Significantly more expensive due to material and labor

  • Often used for retrofits or specialized builds
