Long Bayou Preserve: A New Site Plan and a Look at Construction

Roads and utilities are moving along, and a beautiful new site plan finally lets you see all 37 homesites between Long Bayou and the Intracoastal Waterway.

I just heard from the team at Long Bayou Preserve in Orange Beach, and I love this update. They sent over a brand-new site plan, and it is the clearest picture yet of what this little peninsula is going to become.

The plan was created by their partner, Robert McCown of McCown Design, to give everyone a better vision of the project. Anyone who has been following Long Bayou Preserve knows how helpful that is. A homesite on a map is one thing. Seeing where the road bends, where the piers reach into the bayou, and where the Lodge sits makes it feel like a real place.

On the ground, the team tells me construction of the roads and utilities is progressing nicely, and they hope to be finished by the beginning of the year. That puts the target at early 2027.

What I appreciate most about this plan is how clearly it sorts the 37 homesites into groups. When a buyer asks me where to begin at Long Bayou Preserve, this is the first thing I walk through with them.

What I notice when I study the drawing

Long Bayou Preserve sits very close to the new Margaritaville resort development in Orange Beach, the new-construction project across from The Wharf. If you already know and love that stretch of Orange Beach, you know how much energy there is in this part of town right now.
