Ono Harbour at Sunset

Salt air. Marsh grass. Pretty boats on still water. Soft peach light over the harbour—my sanctuary on Ono Island, so close to Orange Beach.

Ono Harbour is one of my favorite neighborhoods on Ono Island.

In this photograph, the sky washes from pale blue into soft orange and pink. The harbour water holds the color like a mirror. Wooden slips reach into the stillness; a white boat rests on its lift; golden-brown marsh grass stands close enough that you can almost hear it move. Across the water, pines and oaks hold coastal homes in a quiet line. This is the Ono Harbour I love—privacy and nature, boats and birds, all of it held in one soft hour.

This is a sanctuary on the island.

I love watching the coastal birds work the edges of the marsh. I love the smell of the grass and the water mixed together. I love how the boats look at the end of the day—quiet, ready, at rest. I love that Ono Harbour can feel this private and this alive, while Orange Beach stays close enough for dinner, errands, and the wider Gulf Coast rhythm.
