Discovering My Favorite Restaurants on the Gulf Coast
The Gulf Coast is more than just a paradise for beachgoers; it’s a culinary destination where local flavors meet breathtaking views. Over the years, I’ve explored countless restaurants, and I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite spots that make this region such a vibrant place to live and visit. From Orange Beach to Pensacola, these are the places I return to again and again, whether I’m celebrating with clients, enjoying time with friends, or simply indulging in the local cuisine.
Orange Beach, Alabama
Louisiana Lagniappe
Situated on the waterfront, Louisiana Lagniappe offers both stunning views and exceptional cuisine. The name “Lagniappe” (pronounced “LAN-yap”) is a Cajun term meaning "a little something extra," and this restaurant certainly lives up to it. My favorite dish is their fresh-caught fish topped with jumbo lump crab and hollandaise sauce—a decadent combination that’s as delicious as it sounds. Dining here feels like a true Gulf Coast experience.
Zeke's Landing
Zeke’s Landing is a fantastic spot to enjoy fresh seafood with a view of the marina. Their seafood platters are generous and perfectly prepared, making it a great choice for a laid-back meal with stunning surroundings.
Big Fish
Big Fish offers an upscale dining experience with a focus on fresh, local seafood. Their blackened tuna is my go-to dish, and their attention to detail and flavor never disappoints.
Carmelo’s Italian Ristorante
Carmelo’s brings an elevated dining experience to Orange Beach with a menu that combines Italian classics and coastal influences. My favorite dish is the Apollo Focaccia. It has a briny and citrus flavor that is so well balanced, making it an unforgettable choice for anyone who enjoys bold yet harmonious flavors.
Voyagers
Located within Perdido Beach Resort, Voyagers offers a fine dining experience with breathtaking Gulf views. Their seafood and steak options are expertly prepared, and the elegant atmosphere makes it a top choice for special occasions.
Perdido Key, Florida
Fisherman’s Corner
Fisherman’s Corner is a hidden gem known for its Cajun-inspired dishes. Their seafood gumbo and fried green tomatoes are must-tries, and the cozy atmosphere adds to its charm.
Pensacola, Florida
The Fish House
If you’re in Pensacola, The Fish House is a must-visit. Known for their Grits à Ya Ya—a mouthwatering dish of smoked gouda cheese grits topped with Gulf shrimp—this restaurant never disappoints. The views of the marina only enhance the dining experience.
Global Grill
For a more upscale experience, Global Grill offers an impressive tapas menu. Their lamb lollipops and sesame-crusted ahi tuna are just a couple of my favorites. It’s a great place for a date night or special occasion.
Pearl and Horn
Pearl and Horn is a newer addition to the Pensacola dining scene, but it’s quickly become a favorite for its creative small plates and craft cocktails. The roasted oysters and short rib sliders are not to be missed.
The Grand Marlin of Pensacola Beach
The Grand Marlin is known for its sophisticated coastal cuisine. Their parmesan-crusted grouper and lobster fingers are standout dishes, and the relaxing views of the water make dining here a true pleasure.
Jackson’s Steakhouse
Jackson’s is a fine dining staple in Pensacola, offering premium steaks and an extensive wine list. Their filet mignon and lobster tail pairing is my personal favorite for a luxurious night out.
Fairhope, Alabama
The Pearl
The Pearl in Fairhope is a culinary gem where everything is made from scratch by an incredibly talented chef. Their sautéed crab claws are a standout—perfectly seasoned with a balance of garlic and herbs that highlights their freshness. This is a spot that should be on every seafood lover’s list.
Point Clear, Alabama
The Wash House
The Wash House is a charming Southern restaurant that feels like stepping back in time. Known for their classic coastal dishes, I always order their salad with goat cheese.
Magnolia Springs
The Tin Top
The Tin Top in Magnolia Springs is a hidden treasure, especially for oyster enthusiasts. Their oysters, served raw, chargrilled, or fried, are absolutely phenomenal. Paired with their relaxed atmosphere, this is a go-to spot for a true Gulf Coast dining experience.
Magnolia Springs and Fort Morgan, Alabama
Jessie’s
Jessie’s is a must-visit whether you’re in Magnolia Springs or Fort Morgan. Their steaks and seafood are top-notch, and the warm, inviting atmosphere makes it perfect for a leisurely meal. My favorite dish is their grilled red snapper, served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes.
