A Perfect First Saturday of April on Ono Island: Cousin's Maine Lobster Food Truck

Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck Ono Island

Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me why I love living and working on Ono Island. The first Saturday of April brought sunshine, a light breeze off the water, and—much to my delight—a visit from one of the most talked‑about food trucks around: Cousins Maine Lobster.

If you live here, you know that every now and then a food truck is invited onto the island for residents and guests. It’s always a treat, but this one had been on my radar for a while. I’d heard friends rave about it, and I’d seen the long lines in other cities. Still, this was my very first time visiting their state‑of‑the‑art truck, and I was genuinely excited to finally see what all the buzz was about.

It did not disappoint.

My friend and I both ordered the Connecticut Lobster Roll, served warm with butter and lemon on a perfectly toasted New England roll. One bite in, and I understood immediately why people talk about this place the way they do. The lobster was tender, sweet, and incredibly fresh—because it truly is. Cousins Maine Lobster has its own boats in Maine, and they fly the lobster in. You can taste the difference.

Standing there on a beautiful spring day, enjoying an amazing lobster roll with a friend, surrounded by the relaxed charm of Ono Island—it felt like the perfect blend of coastal living and simple joy. Moments like that are exactly why I love calling this place home and helping others discover it.

I’m already hoping Cousins Maine Lobster makes a return visit. And if they do, I’ll be first in line.
