The KUSH 370 Catamaran

Where luxury boating meets Orange Beach waterfront living

Kush Catamaran Boat Orange Beach Alabama Gulf Coast Boating Fishing Luxury

There is a particular kind of morning in Orange Beach when the water is smooth, the sky is beginning to blush and a beautiful boat slips quietly away from a private dock. The engines settle into their rhythm, the bow turns toward Perdido Pass and, almost instantly, the house and boat become part of the same story.

That is what I think about when I look at the KUSH 370 Catamaran.

This 37-foot luxury center-console catamaran feels especially well suited to the Alabama Gulf Coast because it can move comfortably between the many ways we enjoy the water here. It can be an offshore fishing boat before sunrise, an island-hopping boat by afternoon and an elegant sunset-cruising boat before the day is over.

And goodness, that is very much the Orange Beach way of boating.

Why the KUSH 370 Works So Beautifully on the Alabama Gulf Coast

Boating around Orange Beach is wonderfully varied. Within one outing, we may travel through a protected Ono Island canal, cross the current near Perdido Pass, encounter a rolling Gulf swell and return through the back bays as an afternoon breeze begins to build.

That variety is one reason a substantial offshore catamaran is so appealing.

The KUSH 370 has two hulls rather than the single hull found beneath a traditional center-console boat. Its broad stance and 12-foot beam are designed to provide stability, deck space and a confident ride across changing conditions.

I have photographed enough boats passing Ono Island—and spent enough time on our local waterways—to know that comfort matters. The Gulf can be polished and calm in the morning, then develop a little personality later in the day.

“The right Gulf Coast boat should be chosen for the water you actually travel, not simply for the way it looks sitting at the dock.”

A Serious Offshore Boat with a Refined Side

According to the official KUSH 370 specifications, the boat measures 37 feet in length, carries a 12-foot beam and can be configured with as much as 1,600 horsepower. Its two fuel tanks provide a combined capacity of 522 gallons.

Those numbers tell me this is not merely a boat for taking a short ride around the bay. It is designed with serious offshore capability in mind.

For Orange Beach anglers, that may mean early departures through Perdido Pass, longer runs toward offshore reefs or full days pursuing red snapper, grouper, amberjack, mahi and tuna.

Fishing Features

  • Two 640-quart insulated in-floor fish boxes
  • A 340-quart insulated coffin box
  • A 300-quart insulated cooler
  • Two standard 38-gallon livewells
  • Optional 40-gallon in-floor livewell
  • Multiple tackle and preparation stations
  • Extensive rod storage
  • Raw-water washdown and portside dive door

I love that the boat does not appear to make its owners choose between capability and comfort. Premium upholstery, teak accents, mezzanine seating and a substantial JL Audio system help it transition from fishing machine to luxury day boat.

One morning it may be loaded with tackle and ice. The next afternoon it may be carrying friends to Robinson Island with music playing and cold drinks tucked away.

“That versatility is its own kind of luxury,” I would tell a buyer. “You are not limited to one version of life on the water.”

From Perdido Pass to an Evening Cruise

I can picture the KUSH 370 fitting naturally into the rhythm of Orange Beach boating:

  • Leaving Ono Island before sunrise for an offshore fishing trip
  • Cruising through Perdido Pass as the sportfishing fleet returns
  • Anchoring near Robinson Island for a relaxed afternoon
  • Exploring the Intracoastal Waterway and surrounding bays
  • Arriving by boat at a waterfront restaurant
  • Watching dolphins travel through the pass
  • Enjoying a sunset cruise as the light reflects across Old River

The 12-foot beam creates the kind of open deck plan that can make a 37-foot boat feel especially generous. There is room to move, gather, fish and settle in without every activity competing for the same few feet of space.

That is important here because boating is often social. Someone is tending a line, someone is choosing the music and someone is inevitably saying, “Let’s stay out just a little longer.”

When the Boat Should Help Choose the House

Luxury waterfront buyers frequently begin their search with the residence: the view, the architecture, the pool and the outdoor-living areas.

Those things matter tremendously—but when a buyer owns or plans to purchase a boat like the KUSH 370, I begin asking boating questions very early in the conversation.

A gorgeous waterfront home is not necessarily the right waterfront home for every vessel.

Search The Gulf Checklist

Buying a Waterfront Home for a 37-Foot Catamaran

  1. Slip dimensions: Is the slip wide and long enough for the boat, engines and necessary working clearance?
  2. Boat-lift design and capacity: Twin hulls require the correct bunk configuration and structural support. Capacity should reflect the boat’s fully loaded operating weight.
  3. Water depth: Measure at realistic tide conditions and compare the findings with the vessel’s loaded draft.
  4. Canal and fairway width: Consider approach, turning and backing into the slip when wind or current is present.
  5. Boathouse clearance: Confirm clearance for the T-top, radar, antennas, outriggers and other equipment.
  6. Bridge clearance: Air draft matters from the private dock all the way to open water.
  7. Dock utilities: Review electrical service, freshwater, lighting and washdown access.
  8. Travel time to Perdido Pass: Match the location to offshore fishing, protected cruising, island hopping or the owner’s preferred combination.
  9. Permits and future improvements: Review existing structures and investigate engineering, permitting and association requirements before planning modifications.

Manufacturer confirmation, a marine contractor’s inspection and an experienced captain’s evaluation are all valuable. I would never rely on a listing description alone when determining whether a substantial catamaran fits a particular property.

Ono Island, Orange Beach and the Luxury Boating Connection

Ono Island Luxury Waterfront Homes and Boating

Waterfront real estate in Orange Beach and on Ono Island is wonderfully diverse. Some properties offer protected canal frontage. Others sit on Old River, Bayou St. John or the Intracoastal Waterway with broader water views and more direct access. Each setting brings its own combination of depth, exposure, privacy, dock possibilities and travel routes.

Explore these waterfront collections on SearchTheGulf.com:

A protected canal home may provide a calmer place to keep the boat, while a big-water property may offer broader views and a more direct departure. Neither is automatically better. The right choice depends on the vessel, the captain and the way the owner wants to spend time on the water. That is why I study more than the house. I look at the dock, lift, water depth, turning space, bridge clearances and entire boating route.

Meredith's Search The Gulf Recommendations

For a KUSH 370 in Orange Beach or on Ono Island, I would look for approximately four feet of dependable water at ordinary low tide—and preferably five feet or more at the dock, lift and approach. I would verify the entire boating route, including canal entrances, turning areas and any naturally shoaling sections. Although a power catamaran may float in relatively shallow water, simply floating is not the same as having enough depth to maneuver comfortably, approach the lift or operate safely with fuel, equipment and passengers aboard.

Because the KUSH 370 has a substantial 12-foot beam and can carry 522 gallons of fuel, I would generally begin the lift conversation in the 30,000- to 40,000-pound range, with the final capacity determined by the boat’s documented fully loaded weight, engine package and the lift manufacturer’s engineering requirements. I would also confirm the clear inside width, piling placement, cradle and bunk configuration, roof clearance, electrical service and whether the lift geometry is specifically suited to a catamaran hull. My personal preference is to build in a generous safety margin rather than size a lift too closely to the boat’s estimated weight. These are precisely the details I recommend confirming before purchasing an Orange Beach or Ono Island waterfront property—or before ordering the boat. The Boat and Home Should Tell the Same Story

To me, the KUSH 370 represents a modern version of Gulf Coast luxury—beautiful, capable and meant to be used.

The ideal accompanying property might have a thoughtfully engineered lift, a shaded dockside seating area, generous storage for boating equipment and an easy path between the house and water. It may include an outdoor shower, tackle storage, an ice maker, a summer kitchen or a place to unload the day’s gear without carrying everything through a formal room.

These details can matter just as much as bedroom count or countertop selections because they shape the owner’s everyday experience.

My Search The Gulf Take

The KUSH 370 is impressive because it brings offshore performance, fishing capability, generous gathering space and polished finishes into one 37-foot platform.

Its design feels exceptionally relevant to Orange Beach, where a single boating day may include backwater cruising, Gulf fishing, island hopping and waterfront dining. But a boat of this caliber also makes thoughtful real-estate guidance especially important.

My advice is simple: choose the boat and property as a matched pair. Measure everything. Study the entire route. Consider how the vessel will be used, maintained and protected. Then look beyond whether the boat technically fits and ask whether the setup will feel easy on an ordinary Saturday.

Because the finest version of luxury is not simply owning a remarkable boat and a beautiful waterfront home. It is how gracefully the two work together.
