An Ono Island Morning Recipe
Ono Island Sunrise
Hash Brown Patties
Hot, crispy and ready in minutes—an easy air-fryer breakfast before a morning of fishing, boating or exploring the Gulf.
Some of my favorite Ono Island mornings begin before sunrise, when the waterways are quiet and the fishing boats are preparing to head toward Perdido Pass and the open Gulf. On mornings like these, I want something warm and satisfying that does not require a kitchen full of dishes.
These frozen hash brown patties cook beautifully in the air fryer. They become golden and crisp on the outside while staying tender inside. Serve them simply, or turn them into breakfast stacks with eggs, cheese and bacon before heading out on the water.

A Hearty Breakfast Before Fishing the Gulf
Top each crispy hash brown patty with a slice of cheddar, a fried egg and a little crumbled bacon. Finish with green onions and your favorite hot sauce. It is quick enough for an early departure and hearty enough to carry you through a beautiful morning on the water.
“Preheat the air fryer before adding the patties and give them enough room for the hot air to circulate. That little bit of space is what helps create the crisp, golden edges.” — Meredith
